Baltimore-Based DAASN Joins Startup Maryland’s Pitch Across Maryland 3.0 Tour as a “Full Tour” Sponsor
Towson, Maryland (PRWEB) September 17, 2014 -- Baltimore-based DAASN, a company specializing in web presence and social media marketing, has recently teamed up with one of the mid-Atlantic’s premier entrepreneurship organizations, Startup Maryland. Danny Bendebba and his marketing team at DAASN have agreed to become a “full tour” sponsor for Startup Maryland’s Pitch Across Maryland 3.0 Tour, designed to celebrate and promote a state-wide entrepreneurial environment.
With its first stop in Ocean City, Md., the dates for the 2014 Pitch Across Maryland 3.0 tour are September 15th - October 3rd. On September 18th and 19th the tour will enter Charm City for a few stops, first convening at UBALT.
The UBALT convocation (1420 N. Charles Street) will begin at 9 a.m. and official business will conclude at 9 p.m. The tour stop will consist of a variety of activities, such as pre‐pitch sessions, pitch coaching with sponsors/mentors/investors, morning coffee, happy hour, “office hours” with identified mentors, among others.
The aim of the collaboration is to cultivate a dynamic "entrepreneurial ecosystem" for Maryland startups, an ecosystem defined by individuals and organizations coming together with the common goal of facilitating economic growth and fostering innovation.
“We are honored to be a supporter of StartUp Maryland. By supporting this effort we invest in our community which helps everyone,” said Danny Bendebba of DAASN. “We look forward to working with Maryland startups.”
DAASN will bring to the Pitch Across Maryland 3.0 Tour its expertise in web PR, social engagement and online marketing to help this year’s tour retain the “rockstar” status it earned from last year. For instance, in 2013 Startup Maryland made 32 stops across the state, witnessed 161 startups pitching their business/idea and was even invited to the White House and Capitol Hill to brief President Obama’s OSTP team on how to cultivate strong startup communities. Whether you own a business, have a good idea for one or are looking to make more connections in the entrepreneurship community, all interested parties are encouraged to attend. So, for those who have never attended a Startup Maryland meeting, what exactly does the organization do? Startup Maryland seeks to implement four initiatives—connection, celebration, coaching, and capital.
The organization seeks to connect startups with resources, investors and platforms to help foster growth. It seeks to celebrate entrepreneurship and startup companies, as well as provide coaching, guidance and support from business mentors and other leaders. Lastly, it provides the setting where startups can potentially gain the crucial investment—capital—they need to grow their businesses.
“Community building among Maryland’s entrepreneurial community cannot happen unless companies step up to the plate,” said Michael Binko, Founder and chair of Startup Maryland. “In this case, DAASN has done just that. We are excited to work with the DAASN team, since it is the ideal company to help other startups achieve the growth and investment they need to thrive in any industry, whether you are in government, education, healthcare or biotech.”
