Bambeco Appoints Charles Cioffi as New Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer
Baltimore, MD (PRWEB) October 18, 2016 -- Leading sustainable home goods brand Bambeco, Inc. today announced the appointment of Charles Cioffi to its senior executive team. Cioffi will serve as both the company’s Chief Financial Officer and its Chief Operating Officer, and brings three decades of expertise to his new roles. Cioffi will oversee Bambeco’s financial growth strategy and continue the company’s recent momentum.
“Chuck is a proven financial and operating leader with extensive experience in driving enterprise value and efficiencies,” said Susan Aplin, CEO and Co-Founder, Bambeco. “His financial and operational expertise and leadership is invaluable as we continue to expand our existing business channels and into new markets,” said Aplin.
Prior to joining Bambeco, Cioffi served as SVP, COO and CFO of The Robert Allen Group, Inc., a leading, private-equity owned fabric house that works with global brands such as Hobby Lobby, Jo-Ann Fabric, and Ethan Allen. There, Cioffi successfully improved the company’s operations and financial position through a number of innovative measures.
Prior to that, Cioffi held the role of VP, Chief Performance Officer for HDA, Inc., a category manager of books and magazines for major international brands like Lowe’s, Michael’s and Bed, Bath and Beyond. Over the course of his 30-year career, Cioffi has also held senior positions at Home Decorators Collection, a subsidiary of The Home Depot, as well as Knights Direct and StreamSearch.
He began his career at Ernst & Young in its Entrepreneurial Services practice, and he holds a Bachelors in Business Administration with majors in both finance and accounting from St. Louis University.
“I’m thrilled to be joining Bambeco, especially at such a critical stage in the company’s evolution. With strong operational and financial strategies in place, I expect Bambeco’s next five years to be marked by significant growth and success,” said Cioffi. “I look forward to working closely with Susan and the rest of her management team to realize Bambeco’s goals.”
Recently, during Climate Week NYC, Bambeco CEO, Aplin, announced plans to achieve carbon neutrality by 2020, making Bambeco the first ever net-neutral home goods company. Cioffi will play a key role within operations to oversee the execution of these carbon reduction initiatives to help meet this goal.
“Within the multi-billion dollar global home furnishings market, only a small fraction of companies have made serious commitments to sustainability. We intend to lead that charge and serve as a model and inspiration to other business leaders that not only is achieving Carbon Neutrality possible, it is the right thing to do and there is a sound business case for it,” said Aplin.
