Bank2 Hosts Native American Home Loan Conference
Oklahoma City, Oklahoma (PRWEB) December 24, 2013 -- Bank2, the leading home loan lender for Native Americans, recently hosted a training and information conference called “The Native American Home Loan Conference” for loan officers and real estate professionals. The conference, which was a two-day event focused on changes in the home loan market, was held at the prestigious Petroleum Club in Oklahoma City. It emphasized the importance of finding new ways to help Native American families achieve homeownership.
A number of presentations centered around how to take advantage of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Section 184 Indian Home Loan Guarantee Program. The HUD Section 184 Loan Program was specifically designed to give Native Americans, Hawaiian Natives, and Alaskan Natives. Section 184 home loans are guaranteed by the HUD Office of Loan Guarantee (ONAP) that works with a national network of lenders to provide home financing. During the conference, attendees were informed about changes in HUD Section 184 regulations, approaches to streamline the filing process, and hints to ensure home loans are insured by HUD. The conference also offered insight into how to increase sales volume for Native American home loans, and how to receive training for HUD 184 certification.
“Since we were founded by the Chickasaw Nation to provide vital financial services to native peoples, Bank2 is in a unique position to educate bankers, lenders and mortgage brokers in how to help their clients get the best results from the HUD Section 184 loan,” stated Betty Shaw, Senior Vice President and Head of Mortgage Lending at Bank2. “Informational events like the Native American Home Loan Conference benefit the entire community by making it easier for home loan professionals to find the right loan products for Native American clients.”
The conference was well received by attendees who had the opportunity to not only learn more about lending programs for Native Americans, but to network with executive leaders from Bank2 and other lending institutions, as well. In addition to education sessions and presentations, attendees were offered a sit-down dinner at the Petroleum Club and attending Oklahoma City Thunder basketball game.
