Barnstable County Registry of Deeds Begins E-Recording with Simplifile
BARNSTABLE COUNTY, Mass. (PRWEB) February 06, 2014 -- Electronic recording (e-recording) of land documents in Barnstable County is now available through Simplifile, the nation’s largest e-recording service provider.
“It has been a long term strategic goal of the Barnstable Registry to streamline our recording processes and reduce the amount of time associated with recording,” said Assistant Register of Deeds David Murphy. “E-Recording documents helps us to achieve this goal.”
E-Recording is the process of recording documents via the Internet that would otherwise be sent by express mail, courier service, or delivered in-person by the customer at the county. Simplifile’s service enables customers to quickly scan and upload, or prepare documents for recording electronically, submit them, and have them stamped, recorded, and returned from the county in minutes.
“Our customers will see a significant reduction in the time dedicated to completing a real estate transaction, as they can file their instruments quickly, securely and conveniently from the comfort of their own offices. The Registry will see continued step consolidation resulting in faster recording times,” Murphy said.
In addition to the time savings, Simplifile customers are able to cut down on paper costs, check-writing expenses, as well as increase document security.

Recording customers include title companies, banks, attorneys, lien filers and others who file land documents with the Barnstable County Register of Deeds.
Barnstable County joins 11 additional e-recording counties in Massachusetts that have adopted Simplifile service.
