In the last two years, the company has released a full developer program and signed deals with partners ranging from concierge physician groups, to wellness programs, corporate wellness providers, and next generation payers. These developments, along with multiple pilot engagements with large partners, puts the Redwood City, CA-based startup well on its way to amass a dataset covering half a million lives by end of year.
“BaseHealth is on the cutting edge of personalized healthcare, and the innovative health management platform they’ve developed is on the verge of mass adoption,” said Jason Pyle, CEO of BaseHealth. “Joining Prakash Menon, Hossein Fakhrai-Rad, and the rest of BaseHealth’s highly accomplished leadership team is a great privilege. I’m eager to apply my expertise to help rapidly expand a technology that I believe in deeply.”
The BaseHealth assessment engine leverages genomic data in combination with clinical and behavioral analysis to provide population health insights and personalized, evidence-based health assessments. The company’s predictive model is backed by more than five years of extensive disease research and built from validated data from over 30,000 peer-reviewed articles. It currently includes data on specific risk factors for more than 40 common complex diseases as well as information on 38 food and drug responses, with more research being added to the platform regularly.
“BaseHealth has seen steady growth over the last 5 years as we’ve been building and validating our technology and commercially deploying BaseHealth to trusted partners. We’re now ready to massively scale our customer acquisition and enter a period of exponential growth,” said Prakash Menon, former CEO and current CTO of BaseHealth. “BaseHealth is founded and led by scientists, and we have always prided ourselves in maintaining the highest degree of scientific rigor. Jason is an experienced scientist with deep subject matter expertise who also has tremendous business-development experience; I can’t think of a better person to help us move the company forward.”
