BATS Announces Large Follow-On Order with a Major Defense Customer
(PRWEB) January 29, 2014 -- BATS Wireless, the world’s leading innovator of wireless stabilization, optimization, and tracking systems announced that it has received a follow-on order with a major defense customer for 150 BATS intelligent network nodes. These systems will provide high-speed wireless connectivity for the delivery of critical communications and data in military operations areas around the globe.
In combination with previous projects, this fulfillment will represent over 850 systems currently in field in the defense and public safety markets; further solidifying the system’s ability to deliver the bandwidth needed for effective communications in the harshest environments around the world.
BATS has worked to develop relationships with various governmental and public safety entities, including a growing list of law enforcement agencies throughout the US, Canada, and Mexico; as well as divisions of the U.S. Army, Air Force, and Navy, to provide stabilized microwave systems used for mobile data and communication links while in theater. One of its more notable projects included the development and successful deployment of a self-healing, wireless core network to support 4G LTE technology rollout onboard Navy ships.
The system’s modular, lightweight, and hardened design improves mobility and durability in the most demanding environments. This allows for the rapid deployment of self-optimizing wireless broadband communications assets while mobile, or at the halt; with minimal set up time and very little configuration or follow-on maintenance required.
“Our defense and public safety partnerships have afforded us several opportunities to provide individuals in those fields with the technology they require to complete tasks efficiently, without the hassle or cost of traditional communications methods,” said Phillip Cramer, Vice President of Sales & Marketing. “With the ability to combine, extend, or even offset a variety of network resources; be it existing fiber, Ethernet, Wi-Fi, LTE, Wi-Max, microwave or satellite; and deliver up to gigabit connectivity, these systems provide the flexibility that is required in the field.”
