Bay Area Artist, Katy Martin, Sings to Awaken Hearts
San Jose, California (PRWEB) February 18, 2014 -- Katy Martin, founder of GlobalPrayerCircles.org works at Stanford Hospital and Clinics; has released a music video and single with all proceeds going to cancer research and prevention. The music video titled, “Awakening,” has been created to bring people together to create a musical prayer wheel with the prayers of people from around the world in the video.
She has witnessed closely how cancer deteriorates loved ones, her father and brother died of cancer, and two of her five sisters had breast cancer. Martin says, “I believe that this is a positive and powerful way to approach the problem of cancer. We can combine our prayers and money to help eliminate this illness from the world, I know that prayer and more resources can help us to eliminate cancer.”
Martin’s goal is to collect 100,000 prayers from all around the world and insert them in the video, creating the first and largest audio/visual prayer wheel for the end of cancer on the planet. She has committed to raise $100,000 for the Stanford Cancer Institute and an additional $100,000 for the Breast Cancer Fund by marketing this music video, and song on iTunes.
The song, “Awakening,” was written by Cyprian Consiglio, a Benedictine monk and the prior of the New Carimaldi Hermitage, and John Pennington, Professor of Music at Augustana College.
