Baylor Scott & White Health Implements InDemand Interpreting Video Remote Interpreting Across the Health System
Seattle, WA (PRWEB) September 26, 2017 -- InDemand Interpreting, a technology-enabled medical interpreting company, today announced that video remote interpreting (VRI) will be implemented across the Baylor Scott & White Health system to improve patient and provider communication. The new technology enables Baylor Scott & White Health, the largest not-for-profit health care system in Texas and one of the largest in the United States, to bridge the communication gap with limited English proficient (LEP), Deaf and hard of hearing (HOH) patients.
Baylor Scott & White Health implemented VRI technology in over 14 locations and now the health system is expanding VRI system-wide and across the entire care continuum. The expansion of VRI will provide immediate access to medically qualified interpreters 24 hours a day, seven days a week, in more than 200 languages, including American Sign Language (ASL) and Certified Deaf Interpreters (CDIs).
The VRI technology includes high definition audio and display with large, touch-screen rolling carts for convenient VRI in all clinical settings. The devices are durable and designed for demanding, high-traffic environments to ensure the best communication for patient and provider.
