Bayou City Magazine is a Finalist for Two Folio: Ozzie Awards
Houston, Texas (PRWEB) November 14, 2014 -- Bayou City Magazine has been named a finalist for the 2014 Folio: Ozzie Awards in two categories: Best Consumer – Overall Design – Under 250,000 Circulation and Best Consumer – Table of Contents. The magazine, which represents an evolution in Houston’s publishing landscape because of its introduction of cutting-edge technology, enters its second year honored with more than 9 international awards.

The Eddie & Ozzie Awards program is presented by Folio:, the leading publication serving the entire magazine media industry. Bayou City Magazine’s finalist position stands alongside leading national print publications such as Hearst Corporation’s Harper’s Bazaar and Time Inc.’s ESSENCE Magazine.

The winners and honorable mentions for the coveted Folio: Eddie & Ozzie Awards will be celebrated at a breakfast event on Thursday, December 11, 2014, at the Yale Club in New York City from 8:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.
In addition to these honors, Bayou City Magazine—with our designers, SW!TCH Studio—won eight design awards at the 44th Annual Creativity International Awards. Creativity International Awards is one of the longest running, independent international advertising and graphic design competitions. Each year, the judges choose the best designs for magazines, advertisements, marketing materials, websites and commercials from all over the world to be reproduced in the 400-page Creativity Awards Annual. Entrants into the competition represented 32 countries and 22 U.S. states.
Bayou City Magazine was also recognized in the 2014 Nichee Awards, winning Best Niche Start-Up Magazine, making the publication Houston’s most decorated magazine currently publishing.
Bayou City Magazine’s mission is to connect readers with local trends and experiences in Houston, commonly known as the Bayou City. The unique publication combines a print magazine with digital extensions, including a newly re-launched digital magazine online and apps available for most mobile devices. A key differentiator is Bayou City’s implementation of “augmented reality,” which adds layers of additional multi-media material to standard editorial and advertising content.
