LAKE CHARLES, La (PRWEB) October 28, 2015 -- Louisiana Spirits Distillery, maker of award-winning Bayou Rum, signed a long-term national distribution agreement with New York-based Stoli Group USA LLC earlier this month.
The national agreement is a big step toward growing the Bayou Rum, increasing the borders beyond Louisiana, Texas, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida, Maryland, Washington D.C and Georgia. The national distribution will begin on Jan. 1, 2016 for all four types of rum: Bayou Silver, Bayou Spiced, Bayou Select Rum and Bayou Satsuma Rum Liqueur.
Known as “America’s Rum,” Bayou Rum is handmade from Louisiana sugarcane in the largest privately-owned rum distillery in the USA, Louisiana Spirits Distillery, located in Lacassine, LA, just 20 miles east of Lake Charles, LA. Although production has only been going on for two years, Bayou Rum has received more than 65 awards and accolades.
The distillery offers free distillery tours, which allows guests to learn how the distillery utilizes traditional methods with state-of-the-art facility technology. After the tour, visitors can enjoy samples of the product(s) at the tasting bar and peruse the gift shop for unique Louisiana-inspired gifts.
Those looking to enhance the Louisiana experience can visit the nearby Rabideaux’s Sausage Kitchen 105 US-165 Iowa, LA to sample some boudin; the kitchen is located on the Southwest Louisiana Boudin Trail and is a five minute drive from the distillery. Considered a staple snack in the southern regions of the Bayou State, boudin is made of varying amounts of pork meat, liver, rice, onions, parsley and dry seasonings like salt, red pepper, black pepper and garlic powder. There are more than 25 stops along the trail and this Cajun finger food is perfect for any time of the day.
The Creole Nature Trail All-American Road is also nearby the Bayou Rum distillery. Use the free personal tour app (available in iTunes and Google Play by searching “Creole”) to experience the more than 180-mile outdoor adventure land. One of only 43 federally-designated All-American Roads, the Creole Nature Trails is the perfect place for those interested in nature photography, fishing, crabbing, hunting, shelling or birding.
