BDCwire: Entertainment, Lifestyle and Nightlife for Those on the Cutting Edge of Boston Culture
Boston, MA (PRWEB) October 28, 2013 -- Boston.com has launched a new website, called BDCwire, designed and dedicated entirely to serve the entertainment, music, nightlife and lifestyle needs of Boston’s 18-34 year olds.
The site (http://www.bdcwire.com) speaks to Boston’s “culture-forward” populace, with a contemporary design and distinctly edgier editorial voice. The site includes original content and also curates headlines and summaries from Boston.com and from around the web.
RadioBDC is an integral part of BDCwire, with co-branded content, interactive features and live events around shared interests. The launch of BDCwire kicked off with RadioBDC Live on the Square, held October 13 in Somerville’s Union Square.
BDCwire is a one-stop destination for what to do around Boston, with a database of events comprised of editor’s picks, social networks and user submissions. Unlike other event calendars, BDCwire’s goes beyond the mainstream and highlights Boston’s vibrant underground. Driven by user input and a sense of community, BDCwire events can originate from Facebook and be shared on the BDCwire calendar, as well as other social networks. Readers can browse events by the week, day or month.

Glenn Yoder, a 28-year-old long-time Boston.com Lifestyle/A&E producer who rose through the ranks, and his team focus on content that speaks directly to 18-34 year olds, focusing as much on the audience and their unique perspectives as the stories it tells. BDCwire is the only destination in Boston for this demographic that aggregates music, events and information all in one place.
Yoder oversees two staff writers dedicated to BDCwire including 22-year-old Perry Eaton, co-founder of award-winning Boston music blog Allston Pudding. In addition to original content, the site aggregates from other sources using PublishThis, a platform for discovering, curating and distributing content.
BDCwire has its own URL, but stories will be promoted via the Boston.com homepage and across its sections.
