BDSmktg Contributes to National Center for Missing & Exploited Children Fundraising Event at 2014 CES
Irvine, Calif. (PRWEB) January 28, 2014 -- BDSmktg, the marketing agency that delivers sales and innovative retail marketing services, recently supported the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, by contributing to the 15th Annual Canon Customer Appreciation Reception & NCMEC Celebrity Golf Tournament. The event is hosted and sponsored by Canon U.S.A, Inc. and is held in Las Vegas during the Consumer Electronics Show. The event raises funds to support NCMEC’s initiatives to find missing children and prevent the abduction and exploitation of children. The event kicked off with the customer appreciation reception at the Bellagio Hotel and Casino and concluded with the celebrity golf tournament at the Tournament Players Club.
According to law enforcement, up to 2,000 children may be reported missing in the U.S. each day. Additionally, statistics show that when trying to locate a missing child, the first three hours are the most critical and require intensive resources from law enforcement, support organizations, and community members. Since 1984, NCMEC has assisted law enforcement in the recovery of more than 191,000 missing children.
“Giving back to the community and supporting nonprofits is something we’re passionate about at BDSmktg,” said Mark Dean, CEO and founder of BDSmktg. “For more than a decade, we have provided dedicated resources, including team member’s time, onsite staffing, transportation, shipping, and more for this annual event. Supporting the event and NCMEC, which takes place during CES, has given us the privilege of heading to Las Vegas to not only attend the show, but bridge business with philanthropy.”
Sponsored by Canon, this year’s event raised $438,000 which will benefit NCMEC’s mission of bringing missing children home. The event featured a cocktail reception, multi-course dinner, entertainment, celebrity golf tournament and live auction. Prizes for the auction included: signed memorabilia, exotic trips, and the latest in entertainment technology. BDSmktg provided, onsite staffing to assist with a live auction, and transportation and shipping of auction items.
“The work that the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children does would not be possible without the support of companies who care about children,” said John Ryan, CEO and president of NCMEC. “We are grateful to BDSmktg for their continued support, and for sharing our commitment to making children safer.”
