Be Great Announces New 2014 All-Day Fest for Los Angeles Startups and Tech Entrepreneurs
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) October 24, 2013 -- Los Angeles' own startup incubator-accelerator Be Great today announced that the next Be Great Fest will be held August 12, 2014. Be Great Fest is the firm's semi-annual celebration of Los Angeles' startup ecosystem, where entrepreneurs, investors, talent, civic leaders, celebrities and others are united under one roof to forge a stronger, tech-friendly L.A.
Be Great's inaugural event for Los Angeles, Be Great Fest 2013, was attended by representatives from the LA Mayor's Office and was later praised by Mayor Eric Garcetti for catalyzing the city's startup community. "We need to use this entrepreneurial spirit, LA's creativity and the great resources this city has," Mr. Garcetti said.
The 2014 Fest will be presented in a brand new all-day format, with a full schedule of programming and micro-events beginning at 9AM and lasting until the evening. The event will be held at an iconic Los Angeles location to be announced in the following months. Be Great is anticipating 1500 attendees.
"At our first Be Great Fest, we rolled out the red carpet for startups and showed everyone a glimpse of LA's future as the next big tech industry hub," said Lin Miao, Be Great's Managing Partner. "Be Great Fest 2014 will expand upon our vision, with an entire day of programming specifically curated for LA's unique startup community."
Be Great 2014 will include a keynote speaker event, 12 to 16 breakout workshops and panels, a special competition called Be Great Cup, and an evening black-tie gala featuring gourmet catering, premium open bar, a celebrity DJ and other surprises. $25,000 of proceeds from the event will be donated to charity.
Attendees will be able to connect with top LA startups and Be Great's own portfolio companies such as Naturebox, MeUndies, Loot Crate, DealFlicks, Hullabalu, Eversnap and more.
Be Great Fest 2013 was profiled in The Los Angeles Times, Venture Beat, PandoDaily, TechCrunch and Tech Zulu.
