Beautiful Lantern Release Breezes in to Kansas
Wichita, KS (PRWEB) June 24, 2015 -- June 22 – Severe storms in May created an impossible situation for launching lanterns, but on July 11, The Lantern Fest will return to Wichita. The sky will be painted gold as thousands of lanterns rise up in one spectacular release at El Dorado State Park. Event organizers expect thousands to attend this unique event.
“We were hugely disappointed when the event was postponed in May,” said event director Spencer Humiston. “But July 11 will be a night to remember! We are excited to share this magnificent spectacle with the people of Wichita.”
When The Lantern Fest was postponed, organizers of this once sold-out event released extra tickets so that even more Kansans could participate. This family-friendly festival promises live music, face painters balloon twisters and more. Families and friends alike can come and sit by the fire to roast marshmallows for their s’mores, while munching on food and snacks provided by local vendors.
“People will come from all over the Midwest to celebrate a milestone, remember a loved one, or just to snap some pictures for Instagram and marvel at this unforgettable scene,” said Lantern Fest co-founder TR Gourley. “This one-of-a-kind experience will become a family tradition for years to come.”
The Lantern Fest partners with local charities for every event. They are excited to donate a portion of their proceeds from the Wichita event to The American Cancer Society and Numana. For more than 100 years, the American Cancer Society has worked relentlessly to save lives and create a world with less cancer. Numana is an international hunger relief organization that works with volunteers to package millions of meals for people all over the world.
