Beaver Run Resort Geared Up to Host Pro Cycle Teams in Breckenridge
Breckenridge, CO (PRWEB) August 04, 2015 -- It’s that time of year again when the top names in professional cycling descend upon the High Rockies in Colorado to test their speed and endurance against the mountains and their elements. The USA Pro Challenge is a seven-stage bike race starting on Monday, August 17 and running through Sunday, August 23, 2015. Summit County will see four of the seven total stages with a finish at Arapahoe Basin on August 18 and a start at Copper Mountain on August 19. In addition, Breckenridge has the honor of being only one of two towns to feature multiple stages on the route with a finish on August 20 and individual time trials on August 21.
As the largest resort and conference center in Breckenridge, Beaver Run Resort has the privilege to host the 19 teams for two nights during the Breckenridge portion of the race. “This event brings so much vitality and excitement to the town, we want to do everything we can to support and be a part of it,” said Bruce Horii, Beaver Run Resort Director of Sales and Marketing.
Beaver Run Resort has been a sponsor of the USA Pro Challenge since the inaugural race in 2011. “A professional sporting event as big as the USA Pro Challenge coming through our little mountain town can only mean good things for the community. We look forward to hosting the teams and spectators and cheering on these amazing athletes as they ride around Breckenridge,” said Bob Barto, Beaver Run Resort General Manager.
The route for 2016 will not be announced for another few months; however, both Barto and Horii are certain they will remain a major sponsor if the race returns to Breckenridge. “I am part of a local cycling group myself so I understand the passion and adrenaline the sport brings out in the fans and athletes. That kind of positive energy and excitement suits Breckenridge perfectly as a town already known for outdoor and adventurous activities. You better believe I will be out there with the rest of the town ringing my cowbell and cheering on the riders. The fact that I can do it two days in a row this year just makes the experience even better,” said Barto.
