BECK Digital Expands Community Giving Efforts with Internships, Scholarships and Community Service Projects
GREENVILLE, S.C. (PRWEB) May 10, 2018 -- BECK Digital, the Southeast’s leading digital and development agency, is pleased to announce the formation of new community giving back initiatives to benefit South Carolina’s Upstate area, specifically, web development and digital marketing internships, a web design and development scholarship, and expansion of their community service web projects and donations.
To promote further education and career preparation in the field, BECK recently announced the establishment of a web design and development scholarship for college students for the fall 2018 semester. This $500 scholarship is open to any highly-motivated student studying web design and/or development and enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program by August 1, 2018, at any accredited U.S. College, university or technical college. Applications are due July 31, 2018. A BECK panel of experts in web design, programming and development will review applications and make an award decision by August 10, 2018. More information can be found by visiting http://www.beckdigital.com/web-design-scholarship or emailing [email protected].
Earlier this spring, BECK also announced two summer internship positions: one internship for web development and another for digital marketing and content. Both intern positions have been filled by students from regional universities. Blake Finn joined BECK as the web development intern. Finn is studying computer science at the University of South Carolina, graduating in the spring of 2019. Finn will focus on front-end development work and back-end software engineering projects for key clients. Alexandra Herbert has joined the agency as their digital marketing and content intern.
Herbert is a recent graduate of Clemson University with a bachelor’s degree in international business, and a focus on writing and marketing. She will be instrumental in the development and dissemination of original agency content, such as blog posts, case studies, and social media posts.
“At BECK, we thrive on redefining the digital space and recognize the importance of nurturing emerging talents in our field. We believe that investing in young scholars betters the entire industry and community at large,” said Ryan Beck, president and managing partner at BECK Digital. “Our commitment goes beyond supporting college students; we are passionate about finding ways to support local and regional organizations, as well. It is part of our corporate DNA. Giving back strengthens business and life for everyone in the Upstate area.”
BECK Digital has a long-standing tradition of giving back to the community. In 2017, BECK Digital wrote checks for over $30,000 in donations to organizations that serve the Greenville, SC and Asheville, NC communities. In years past, BECK donated to dozens of community service projects to benefit regional businesses and nonprofits.
In 2017, BECK donated $25k to Mission Philanthropy, the fundraising arm of Mission Health, for their Virtual Care project, which seeks to improve the health of those in western North Carolina by providing accessible, world-class healthcare via virtual care offerings and technology innovations.
Over the past ten years, BECK donated website, logo and print design services to the American Cancer Society to support one of their largest fundraiser in the Southeast, the Moonlight and Magnolias Gala. Beck also served on their Society’s board for over ten years.
Similarly, a variety of website, logo and philanthropy services were donated to Greenville Health System over the past decade, where Beck also served on the development council for the GHS Children’s Hospital. BECK also custom developed and donated software for the System’s Virtual Toy Drive and for the Dragon Boat Upstate Festival.
Over the years, BECK’s community service donations have spanned a number of businesses, from the United Way of Greenville County, YMCA of Greenville County, Spartanburg County and Anderson County, Safe Kids Upstate, Dogs for Autism, and Operation We Care – Support Our Soldiers. Additionally, Beck currently serves for Aid Joy and their Benjamin Franklin Experience as an educational mentor.
“We want to help organizations make a difference in the communities that they serve,” said Beck. “When donating services, we dedicate our time and talent to delivering projects that will be treasured. We are committed to growing our investments and community outreach, as we are so proud to be a part of this growing region.”
BECK is currently accepting community service project ideas. If you have a non-profit in Greenville, SC, or Asheville, NC, and are committed to transforming your community, please email [email protected] to submit ideas.
