Becka Pimenta Debuts “Dancing in the Rain” on July 29th!
New York City, New York (PRWEB) July 24, 2014 -- British singer-songwriter Becka Pimenta will debut her new single “Dancing in the Rain” on July 29th. The single will be followed by an EP to be released in Fall 2014. The EP was recorded in New York, London and Italy with The Ceasars as well as other up and coming producers. An accomplished songwriter, Becka has been writing since a child, working out song melodies and arrangements on the piano and acoustic guitar. Born in Emsworth, a small fishing village on the South coast of England, Becka lived in the same house her entire life. The youngest of four and the only girl, music became her closest friend while growing up. “When I was a kid my older brother started piano lessons, so naturally I wanted to play too! I sung from an early age but something about understanding the piano made the pieces fit; the words, melodies, harmonies, I was completely taken in by it all. That was the beginning of my love affair with songwriting.”
Becka went on to gain international songwriting attention in 2008 at the age of 17 with her song “Concrete Blocks," landing her in the Top 50 of the 2013 Grammy Gig of a Lifetime campaign as well as having her music licensed by several music supervisors in England and the US. In 2010, NPR featured her among their list of women musicians.
Her catchy lyrics laced with vibrant melodies and lined with real life passion also caught the attention of 2x Grammy winning songwriter/producer Shannon Sanders, as well as music mogul Russell Simmons who added Becka to his list of 10 favorite unsigned artists on his online hijack challenge. Her recent single “So Beautiful” has been licensed for various independent films.
