Beddit Launches New Android App Making It Easier to Understand and Improve Sleep
PALO ALTO, Calif. (PRWEB) November 25, 2015 -- Beddit® has launched a new Android app for use with its Beddit Smart and Beddit Classic sleep tracking systems. The new app features a more intuitive SleepScore™ that rates sleep quality on a 100-point scale and makes it easier to see and understand how well you slept. The SleepScore is created by a proprietary algorithm. Beddit analyzes the data to provide an easy to understand scientific score to help people understand their sleep. Tracking sleep over time provides insight and trend analysis to further the understanding and deliver coaching tips based on overall sleep history, not just one night. The free app also standardizes the Beddit design across mobile OS platforms so those moving between Apple and Android devices have the same experience regardless of device.
Beddit makes any bed a smart bed by connecting Android and iOS devices with an ultra-thin sensor over Bluetooth. The sensor lies under the bed sheet, so there is nothing to wear and nothing to do but pair the sensor with a mobile device and go to sleep. Sleep tracking begins at bedtime, tracking heart rate, respiration, movement, snoring and sleep cycles. In the morning the personalized SleepScore indicates overall sleep quality, based on far more data – and more meaningful data – than provided by wrist-worn devices.
“A great day starts with a good night’s sleep, and the first step in improving sleep is understanding it. The new Beddit for Android app is even better at helping people understand their sleep patterns,” said Lasse Leppäkorpi, CEO of Beddit. “Recent data shows more than 80 percent of the world’s smartphones run Android. The new Android app builds on the knowledge from hundreds of thousands of Beddit-tracked sleep hours into a better tool for understanding all of the sleep data Beddit provides.”
Major improvements in Beddit for Android 2.0 include:
• New design: Everything needed to understand sleep is available at-a-glance, in a soothing and sleek interface built around the SleepScore. People can scan the previous night’s sleep details, and drill down deeper into the data to further understanding of sleep quality factors.
• SleepScore: Carefully analyzing hundreds of thousands of hours of Beddit sleep data, data scientists developed a more intuitive and telling sleep quality indicator. The SleepScore combines all of the parameters Beddit measures; from heart rate and respiration to sleep duration, snoring, and restlessness.
Beddit automatically collects and analyzes sleep related data with clinical accuracy. A patented design and proprietary manufacturing process results in an ultra-thin piezo sensor film technology that automatically detects when a person is in the bed, creating a completely ambient experience. With Android the data is shared with Beddit Family, the companion web app for families, groups or teams, with in-depth historical data results.
From Black Friday to Cyber Monday, the Beddit Classic sleep tracker will be available for $79 (a $119 value). A bundle of Beddit Classic and the NightCare No-Snore Pillow – the only pillow designed, clinically-tested, and FDA cleared to help reduce snoring and mild sleep apnea – will sell for $99. Bought separately, they would cost $248. Beddit Smart is $149.95, and can be found at Amazon, Apple Stores, apple.com, Brookstone.com, Bed Bath and Beyond, beddit.com or MyNightCare.com. The required iOS or Android apps are available in the App Store and Google Play Store at no charge.
