Behind-The-Scenes with Sir Richard Branson’s very own Necker Island for Extreme Tech Challenge, Applications for 2017 Contest Now Open
Necker Island, British Virgin Islands (PRWEB) June 02, 2016 -- Extreme Tech Challenge 2017 - The Extreme Tech Challenge (XTC), a challenge that catapults contenders to the frontier of innovation, returns for a monumental third year - drawing ambitious entrepreneurs and technological trailblazers from across the globe. The challenge serves as an unprecedented opportunity, offering up resources money can’t buy: the chance to pitch Sir Richard Branson alongside a collective of high-caliber judges, and gain invaluable access to massive visibility, essential software and infrastructure prizes, and an unparalleled advice network of world-class contacts and mentors.
Hot on the heels of an amazing second year, XTC invites would-be contenders to apply now for XTC 2017 with incredible opportunities awaiting contestants at every level of competition. Cultivation of mentorship and valuable capital begins from the moment a prospect submits the application and continues through the final round, as all challengers are granted access to essential tools designed to accelerate companies in achieving their goals. Most critically, the semi-finals are set against the illustrious backdrop of the world’s largest Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, and the final crowning of the champion taking place on Sir Richard Branson’s own Necker Island among an audience of the tech and business world’s sharpest leaders and movers-and-shakers.

Showcasing many key moments with all three finalists and lead judge Sir Richard Branson throughout the course of the finals, the video gives 2017 applicants a taste of what’s to come.
Gary Shapiro, President and CEO of Consumer Technology Association (owners/producers of CES), describes XTC as “a once-in-a-lifetime competition unlike any other.” It’s at CES where ten semi-finalists present onstage live during the internationally-acclaimed convention, in addition to having their presentations streamed to a captive audience of tech industry followers online, culminating with the revelation of the Top 3 Finalists selected to pitch to Sir Richard Branson and a panel of the world’s leading entrepreneurs.
XTC encompasses each and every fathomable sector the tech world has to offer, from world leading innovations in genomics, robotic entertainment, immersive video, virtual reality, and legalized cannabis, and the contest is designed to propel cutting-edge companies whose technologies are shaping the future of our society, piloting aspirants (and their budding enterprise) squarely in the public eye.
