Belkasoft Evidence Center 6.1 Improves Forgery Detection, Speeds Up Timeline Operation
St. Petersburg, Russia (PRWEB) December 13, 2013 -- Belkasoft announces an update to its flagship forensic product, Belkasoft Evidence Center 2014. Version 6.1 extends capabilities of the Forgery Detection Plugin, adding more than 2,000 devices to the list of supported digital cameras. Other changes improve Timeline operation, making it a full order of magnitude faster. Support for multi-volume UFED images is added along with some minor performance and usability improvements.
Forgery Detection Plugin: More Than 3,000 Digital Cameras Supported
Belkasoft introduced the Forgery Detection Plugin less than a year ago. The plugin incorporates a range of algorithms performing automated authenticity analysis of JPEG images submitted as evidence, and implemented the algorithms in a commercially available forensic tool. The Forgery Detection plugin automatically identifies images that have been altered or modified since they left the camera, helping investigators and insurance adjusters handling insurance claims to discover faked evidence.
Initially, Forgery Detection supported approximately 1,000 models of digital cameras. In version 6.1, Belkasoft adds more than 2,000 models to the list of supported devices, boosting the number of supported models to over 3,000. The updated Forgery Detection Plugin supports cameras built into most popular smartphones and tablets, digital compacts, mirrorless and SLR cameras.
Visual Timeline: Now 10x Times Faster
Graphical Timeline was a signature feature added to Belkasoft Evidence Center 6.0. The Timeline enables forensic experts to investigate a certain period of time by displaying all system events and user activities in a single graphical view.
In version 6.1, Belkasoft improved Timeline operation, boosting its drawing performance some ten times. The updated Timeline now draws faster and smoother than ever.
Other Improvements and Enhancements
In version 6.0, Belkasoft Evidence Center gained support for Android dumps made with the popular UFED tool. This update adds the ability to process multi-volume UFED images.
Belkasoft Evidence Center 6.1 adds support for the latest edition of Russia’s most popular instant messenger, Mail.RU Agent for Windows 8.
