Upper Makefield Township, PA (PRWEB) April 11, 2014 -- Baseball season is off to a tremendous start for Louis A. Bencardino’s 2013 Championship travel team, the Upper Makefield Mavs. Their season opened Saturday, April 5th at Upper Makefield’s George’s Field with a double-header sweep against the Warrington and Horsham teams to start their season with a combined score of 18-2.
The first game of the season was skillfully pitched by lefty Anthony Bencardino, with 8 strikeouts in his 5 innings pitching against Warrington’s players. Upper Makefield teammates Luke Cantwell and Josh Moss also helped jumpstart the Mavs lead, scoring two runs in the first inning. The Mavs secured their lead in the bottom of the 5th inning with 8 more runs, ending the home opener with a final score 11-1.

The Mavs scored 3 runs in the first inning and ended the game with a score of 7-1 against Horsham.
This was the Mavs first time playing on a 50-foot mound/70-foot base path at George’s Field, and the team excelled.
The Mavs next game will be at 6p.m. on Friday, April 11th against neighboring Northhampton team. Here’s hoping for another championship this year!
