Ingate Enterprise Session Border Controllers (E-SBCs) are enabling SIP trunking for Kool Smiles, a leading dental care provider with more than 120 offices nationwide.
Benevis is using the virtualized Ingate SIParator® E-SBC to enable SIP trunking for all Kool Smiles’ offices from a single PBX located at Benevis’ data center. In this way, Benevis can service its practice sites from a central location, resulting in significant cost reductions.

Ingate E-SBCs sit on the edge of the enterprise network to provide control over SIP traffic. When a call comes in from the network, the Ingate E-SBC routes it to the appropriate PBX, which sends the call to the remote Kool Smiles office, or to the centralized Benevis call center if the office is unavailable. The Ingate E-SBC also adds encryption and other security measures to provide the high level of security necessary for a healthcare practice.
Benevis initially partnered with Ingate in 2007, when the company replaced its traditional TDM-based telephony system with SIP trunks enabled by Ingate SIParators. That Ingate SIP trunking deployment resulted in a 40% reduction of telephony costs. Benevis saw a return on its investment within one year.
Benevis recently upgraded to Ingate’s Software SIParator E-SBCs, further reducing operational costs. Virtualizing network functionality as Benevis has done leads to greater flexibility, resiliency, scalability and additional cost savings by not having to maintain physical servers. Therefore, Benevis can easily deploy SIP trunks to new affiliate offices as they open.
