Benzer Pharmacy Achieves Accreditation with ACHC
Auburndale, Florida (PRWEB) July 15, 2015 -- Benzer Pharmacy proudly announces its approval of accreditation status by Accreditation Commission for Health Care (ACHC) which administers the PCAB accreditation program.
Benzer Pharmacy located at 301 Havendale Blvd, Auburndale, FL 33823, has been granted Pharmacy Compounding Accreditation Board (PCAB) accreditation for patient specific prescription compounding of Non-Sterile Compounding.
The pharmacy has demonstrated a commitment to providing quality care and services to consumers through compliance with ACHC’s nationally-recognized standards for accreditation.
PCAB accreditation reflects an organization’s dedication and commitment to meeting standards that facilitate a higher level of performance and patient care.
“Benzer Pharmacy is committed to delivering the highest quality compounded medications to the community in which we serve,” says Lindsay Wall, Director of Compounding Services.
“By achieving PCAB Accreditation, our customers can be assured that our organization follows industry best practices and is in compliance with the industry’s most stringent national standards.”
Compound medications has become an integral part of the practice for Benzer Pharmacy as demand of patient-specific compound medications increases each year. “Accreditation is a comprehensive way to ensure a compounding pharmacy is meeting the highest quality and safety standards,” explains Lindsay.
Compounded medications are prescriptions that are written by physicians, veterinarians, and other legally authorized prescribers and prepared for an individual patient by a specially trained pharmacist. These medications are necessary for a variety of reasons: when a child needs a dose smaller than the manufactured dose, when a patient cannot tolerate an inactive ingredient in a manufactured medicine, or when a doctor believes a medicine is needed for his or her patient, but a manufacturer has discontinued the medicine for economic reasons.
Compounded medications are safe and effective treatment options for patients. Prescribers customize prescriptions for patients when they believe compounded medications are a patient’s best treatment option.
