Berkeley, CA Deputy City Manager William Rogers Joins Goodwill as Chief Operating Officer Accelerating Operational Efficiency and Innovation @ SF-based Social Enterprise
San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) December 03, 2014 -- Leveraging his extensive experience driving service efficiencies in the public sector, William Rogers has joined Goodwill of San Francisco, San Mateo, and Marin Counties (SFGoodwill) as Chief Operating Officer. Rogers is responsible for streamlining the complex supply chain of the growing social enterprise, which includes 33 donation sites, 21 stores, 110k sq. ft of warehousing, and a burgeoning aftermarket salvage business. He also oversees the Human Resources function for SFGoodwill, which delivers on its job training and placement mission partly by employing local people with high barriers to employment within its warehouses, transportation system, retail network and offices.
As the only Deputy City Manager for the City of Berkeley, Rogers co-led a team of 1,350 employees and co-managed a $340 million annual budget. During his 18 years with Berkeley, Rogers proved to be highly effective leading areas as diverse as public health and HIV/AIDS; aging services; fiscal accountability; parks, recreation, and waterfront; organizational development; and reducing opportunity gaps in Berkeley public schools. He successfully spearheaded numerous improvement initiatives and organizational development programs citywide. As a leader, he is recognized as much for driving innovation in the delivery of public services as he is for his collaborative approach to solving problems. Rogers holds a bachelor’s degree from U.C. Berkeley and a master’s degree from U.C San Francisco.
