Participants learned specific steps they can take in their own communities to improve safety and security for their staff, their citizens and their communities to reduce their risk and exposure through the implementation of a systematic comprehensive plan of action. The March forums placed significant emphasis on information sharing among schools and first responders. McDonald commented “BeSafe provides the ability to efficiently distribute accurate, up-to-date building information to all emergency responders, information that is essential to protecting students and staff. This is particularly timely during the historically volatile April-June time period. Schools must be extra vigilant during this challenging time as they prepare for end of the year celebrations, graduations, etc.”
