Best Drug Rehabilitation Interviews Madd Hoss Jackson at the 2015 "Music With A Mission" Benefit Concert
Manistee, Michigan (PRWEB) August 27, 2015 -- On May 30th, 2015, at the Adams County Fairgrounds in Mendon, IL, Best Drug Rehabilitation returned for the second year as sponsor of the “Music With A Mission” benefit concert. For the past two years, “Music With A Mission” has been held to raise money for music education programs in the underfunded school districts of Mendon and neighboring town, Quincy, IL. Organized in part by “Big Vinny” Hickerson of Trailer Choir, one of the performers at the concert, the charity event sought to take a step away from traditional methods of fundraising, like bake sales or raffles, and to provide local youth with the opportunity to discover their potential in musicianship.
“In the fight against substance abuse that faces today’s society, it is crucially important to show people that there are plenty of healthy and productive alternatives to using drugs and alcohol,” commented Best Drug Rehabilitation founder and CEO Per Wickstrom. “By showing our support for the ‘Music With A Mission’ cause, we are able to help provide some of those alternatives to our teens and young adults. We can help to lead them away from the dangerous path of drug and alcohol abuse and shape them into the strong leaders that we will need in the future. We were honored to once again have a place as sponsor of this event.”
Best Drug Rehab CEO Speaks with Madd Hoss Jackson
Wickstrom had the opportunity to speak with many of the evening’s performers before the concert, including Madd Hoss Jackson, a trio that has been touring and performing in the Midwest for a few years, making a name for themselves and playing everything from Country to Classic Rock. “In this industry, sometimes it’s tough to balance everything,” said Jim Jennings, drummer and vocalist for the band, in their interview. “People get to travelling, and everybody wants to party with them, and there’s a lot of temptations out there. You have to be strong to be able to stay away from it. We’ve seen a lot of bands get torn apart because of addiction.” Jennings also spoke of his brother, who battled alcoholism for many years, until eventually he found the strength to remain sober for the last seven years of his life before his passing. “He was able to get sober and to enjoy life.” A Video of the Madd Hoss Jackson interview is available on the Best Drug Rehabilitation YouTube Channel.
The “Music With A Mission” concert was a huge success, drawing hundreds of music lovers to the Adams County Fairgrounds Show Barn, where the concert was relocated to avoid the muddy conditions outside caused by rain over the few days prior to the event. Thousands of dollars were raised to go towards music education programs. Best Drug Rehabilitation’s sponsorship handled a good portion of the cost of holding the concert, which allowed for more of the proceeds raised by ticket sales and concessions to be put towards the cause behind “Music With A Mission”.
