Best Drug Rehabilitation Sponsors Peck Fest 2015, Interviews Performers Featured on the "Taste of Nashville" Country Music Tour
Point Pleasant, WV (PRWEB) December 02, 2015 -- As they continue in their efforts to raise awareness and encourage discussion about addiction and recovery in today’s society, Best Drug Rehabilitation, a holistic treatment center for substance abuse located in western Michigan, travelled to Point Pleasant, WV, to participate as sponsor for Peck Fest 2015, a two-day country music festival. Named for Gary Peck, the owner of the Kanawha River Campground where the festival was held on September 4th-5th, Peck Fest 2015 was part of a larger tour called “A Taste of Nashville”, offering many performers over the weekend, including Jeff Dane, Rodney Atkins, Double Barrel, Joe Diffie, and Tom Dixon, among many others.
“We were honored to take part in Peck Fest 2015,” commented Best Drug Rehabilitation founder Per Wickstrom. “Our sponsorship presented us with an excellent opportunity to raise the public’s awareness about addiction, and to help inform people about the options in treatment that are available to them today. As we continue to move forward in the fight against substance abuse in our nation’s homes and communities, our best and most effective tool is education about these issues. We are grateful to all of the musicians and performers who took time out of their day to speak with us about the dangers of drug and alcohol abuse, and to share with us their ideas and perspectives on the possible solutions to these problems.”
Best Drug Rehabilitation was able to interview some of the performers at Peck Fest, discussing many different aspects of substance abuse and recovery, including causes of addiction, alternatives to drug and alcohol abuse, and the importance of seeking the help of a successful rehabilitation program at a professional treatment center. Among those interviewed were Tom Dixon, Mike Short Jr of Mike Short and Outlaw Revival, Jared Elledge and Dustin Miller of Double Barrel, singer Jeff Dane of The Lost Trailers, and Chris Rakes and Trampus Stomper from Black Mountain Shine.
Tom Dixon offered some encouragement, saying, “Even if you had a problem at some point in your life, you have an opportunity to change that. Take it. Take life by the horns.” Mike Short Jr agreed, adding “A lot of it is to distance yourself from the people that influence those bad decisions. It’s not always easy. It’s hard to say ‘No’ when you’re afraid of what people will think. But, at the end of the day, the only one that matters is you.”
Jeff Dane and Chris Rakes had more personal views of substance abuse to share. “I have personally dealt with addiction,” admits Jeff. “I’ve since kicked that habit, so I’m happy with myself. I feel healthier. It takes a toll, but, as long as you are alive, it’s never too late.” Chris talked about how the effects are felt in many aspects of life, saying, “Different phases in my life where I’ve tended to consume maybe too much alcohol, for instance, is when I’ve been most miserable in my personal life as well. The story ends the same – it’s a bad road to go down.”
