Beth Luneke’s New Book Tells Coming-of-Age Story in Midst of Divorce
CARY, N.C. (PRWEB) November 14, 2014 -- Author Beth Luneke shares a story of what it’s like to be a young girl struggling with change and bad influences in her new book, “Freedom for Rebecca” (published by WestBow Press), part-novel and part-workbook for young readers.
“Freedom for Rebecca” is the story of Rebecca, a fifth grade girl who is searching for freedom from the pain of her parents’ divorce. It tells how three friends come into her life to influence her – sometimes for better and sometimes for worse. Luneke includes a study guide in the back of the book to help young readers explore their own friendships, thoughts and actions.
Luneke says the book is heavily influenced by Romans 8:28: “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” This verse is the central thread throughout Rebecca’s adventures. Even when Rebecca doesn’t notice it, God is working to help her.
“‘Freedom for Rebecca’ touches on a subject that pulls on everyone’s heartstrings: the desire to be free from the challenges this world puts in front of us,” Luneke says. “It reveals the heart and soul of Rebecca, which many young ladies, and even adult ladies, can relate to by their own experiences and struggles.”
