Betteridge Relocates Flagship Store to the “Crown Jewel of Greenwich Avenue”
Greenwich, CT (PRWEB) October 15, 2015 -- Betteridge, one of the world's premier family-owned jewelers, is excited to announce the grand opening of its new flagship store in Greenwich, Connecticut. Located at the most prestigious corner on Greenwich Avenue, the store design combines traditional and modern elements to create a warm and inviting retail destination.
"This has become the most beautiful part of Greenwich Avenue and home to some of the most upscale brands in the world," said Terry Betteridge, noting such neighbors as Ralph Lauren and Hermès. "The building retains that historic feel that embraces not only the longevity of our business, but also the heritage of the town itself."
The two-level location spans more than 12,000 square feet, with over four times the retail space of Betteridge's previous location. The larger interior allows the jeweler to better showcase its estate jewelry, designer brands, and custom pieces. It also gives more room for dedicated in- store boutiques for iconic luxury brands, including Rolex, Cartier, and Patek Philippe.
The store's design concept, created by New York City-based Gachot Studios, seeks to preserve the integrity and spirit of the Betteridge brand, while creating spaces that respond to modern sensibilities. The jeweler had been at its prior location for over sixty years, so it was critical the new store be as welcoming as the historic shop the local community had cherished for generations.
Three primary sources inspired Gachot's design: the original store, private residential design and turn-of-the-century European natural history museums. “Betteridge is a complex lifestyle brand that involves more than conventional jewelry sales. Thus the character of the space changes as one moves through the store, each expressing a different aspect of the company,” says Veronica Lemieux-Blanchard, project designer for Gachot. “Present are threads of the past and future, private moments for repose as well as social opportunities, all seamlessly bound by Betteridge.”
The new flagship store at 239 Greenwich Avenue positions the jeweler for future growth, while maintaining the personality that makes Betteridge unique.
