Beyond Total Branding, an advertising agency located in Wynwood, received on December 3 its first Suncoast Emmy® Award in the category of Best Program - Societal Concerns for an episode of a tv show called SoyTED.

The ceremony for the 2016 Suncoast EMMY® Awards was held at Rosen Center Hotel in Orlando, Florida, on December 3. During the ceremony, Beyond Total Branding received its first Emmy® Award in the category of Best Program - Societal Concerns for its role as the production company of a TV Show called SoyTED. The EMMY® Award was given for the episode called “Soy TED - Jamie Seidner,” which explores the topic of obesity and the lack of nutritional education in homes and schools.
How SoyTED came to life
In 2015, TED (a nonprofit devoted to publishing short, unique and thought-provoking talks online) teamed up with Beyond Total Branding and VME MEDIA (a Spanish-only PBS affiliate network focused on contemporary US Hispanics) to produce SoyTED, a 13-episode half-hour TV show. SoyTED was aired through VME MEDIA (PBS) from November 2015 to March 2016, and each episode revolved around a current affairs theme such as happiness, space exploration or genetics, and its impact in our daily lives. This show represented the first time that TED delivered its content using TV as their platform, and also meant the first time that content was produced in Spanish.
The interviewee that participated in the award winning episode, Jamie Seidner, is a dietetics/nutritionist and wellness counselor from Florida with more that 10 years in practice. Ms. Seidner is a former adjunct professor at Miami Dade Community College and regular guest on TV programs like Univision's Despierta America and Telemundo's Levantate.
