RALEIGH, N.C. (PRWEB) February 16, 2015 -- Ashton Bradley is used to being in front of the camera with all eyes on her. The former model found success at a young age on the runway, through fashion design and now through written word.

Bradley recently published her first book, “The Blue Iris,” which lands in what she calls biblical erotica. One of the main characters is the scriptural archangel Gabriel as a good-guy-gone-bad in an animated fantasy story where he takes advantage of a seemingly innocent young woman. The author describes the dark feel of the book as one inspired by the dark period in life she was going through when she put pen to paper.

“I was in so much pain, mentally struggling and feeling like I was drowning,” Bradley said. “I channeled my feelings and got in front of a keyboard. Writing dark stories was my personal, emotional release.”

Although Bradley has struggled with many internal demons, she uses that for inspiration to fuel her fire in achieving her personal and professional goals.

“I have personally struggled with an eating disorder, self-image and contemplated suicide,” Bradley said. “I have channeled my past experiences and negative emotions into healthy ambition.”

The young author’s passion is to raise awareness about sexual abuse and human trafficking through her work.

“I’m a 21-year-old female pursuing my dreams and surpassing boundaries,” Bradley said. “If I can do it, anyone can. I want to help young women pursue their dreams despite their background.”
