Bill speaks frequently on the use of big data, with an engaging style that has gained him many accolades. He is an avid blogger and frequent speaker on the application of big data and advanced analytics to drive an organization’s key business initiatives.
Before he joined consulting as part Dell EMC Global Services Big Data Practice, Bill co-authored, with Ralph Kimball, a series of articles on analytic applications. He was also on the faculty of TDWI where he taught a course on designing analytic applications. He also the creator of the EMC Big Data Vision Workshop which delineates a methodology linking an organization’s strategic business initiatives with supporting data and analytic requirements, thus helping organizations understand and digest this complex subject.
Bill sets the strategy and defines offerings and capabilities for EMC Global Services’ Big Data Practice. Prior to that, he was the Vice President of Advertiser Analytics at Yahoo! at the dawn of the online Big Data revolution. Additionally, he is the author of “Big Data: Understanding How Data Powers Big Business” and "Big Data MBA: Driving Business Strategies with Data Science.
