bigSTORY™ Introduces New Storytelling Science to the Beltway
Los Angelas, CA (PRWEB) June 04, 2015 -- Mike Bonifer and Jeremi Karnell, co-founders of bigSTORY™, a consultancy launched in early 2015, have announced a series of introductory workshops in Washington D.C. on June 17 and 18. bigSTORY™ is the first company in the world to offer a commercial application of an emerging science called quantum storytelling.
The new science and its implications for business and government organizations will be presented in a luncheon on June 17 at the Beekeeper Group, 1101 14th St NW #200, Washington, DC 20005, and at two evening sessions, on June 17 and 18 at Interface Media Group, 1233 20th Street Northwest, Washington, DC. All three sessions are by invitation only.
“I have been involved in storytelling, in one way or another, for my entire career,” says Bonifer, the company’s Chief Creative Officer, whose background includes a long working relationship with Disney. “Quantum storytelling literally shifted everything I thought I knew into a new approach to story. It is a reflection of the world we live in. It is a science for our times.”
Karnell, the company’s CEO, who specializes in social and cross-platform media strategies, says, “bigSTORY™ is a collaborative model that accounts for how stories form, influence networks and shape the future. Any organization interested in getting more value out of data, improving employee engagement or connecting more consistently with customers will benefit and grow from its application.”
Originated by Dr. David Boje, who holds the Wells Fargo Professorship in the School of Management at New Mexico State University, quantum storytelling has been shaped and informed over the past 25 years by the contributions of a global network of scholars and practitioners specializing in critical organization theory, quantum mechanics, game design, entrepreneurship, business ethics, neuro-linguistics, and multi-media and multi-cultural storytelling.
bigSTORY™ offers a proprietary game-based system called ERGO™ for story analysis and creation in complex systems. The ERGO™ system can be applied to organizational effectiveness, brand communication and data analysis.
In addition to Karnell and Bonifer, bigSTORY's™, Dr. Virginia Kuhn, Associate Professor of Media Arts and Practices at the USC School of Cinematic Arts is also a principal and will serve in an advisory role for the new company. Other advisors to bigSTORY™ include Dr. David Boje of New Mexico State University, Ivy Ross of Google, and John Seely Brown, former director of Xerox PARC and Co-Chairman of the Deloitte Center for the Edge.
