Chattanooga, TN (PRWEB) December 22, 2014 -- Committed to promoting creativity, imagination, and learning through play, BigToys, a PlayCore company and Investigator Club are pleased to announce the winner of the Help Bring Learning Outdoors contest. Judith Ham, President and CEO of Creative Options Centers for Early Education in Aurora, Colorado, submitted the winning essay from a field of over 200 entrants. Her short essay was very persuasive in convincing the judging panel to award the grand prize to her center.
“I am so thrilled that our early childhood centers have been selected to receive this fantastic play equipment and curricula. As the Head Start/Early Head Start provider for Aurora, we serve over 650 children each year - 98% of which come from low income households” stated Judith. “We know that social/emotional development of children is paramount – and most of that happens through their play.”
The grand prize winner’s submission was reviewed and selected by a panel of early childhood experts based on how their early childhood centers/organizations planned on implementing the new equipment and curricula to benefit their early childhood program. Creative Options Centers for Early Education will receive 5 Investigation Stations and a customized sign for their outdoor play environment, a full InvestiGator Club Inquiry-Based Learning System, and the new Outdoor Creative Play and Learning curriculum with standards-based playground activities.
Additionally, ten finalists were selected to receive the Preschool Outdoor Creative Play and Learning folder of playground activities to stimulate creativity, imagination, and learning outdoors and one set of 7 Dilly and Friends® Lapbooks that introduce children to the Investigator Club characters, promote literacy, and address social-emotional skills such as cooperation, sharing, identifying emotions, and overcoming fears.
All entrants also received a special promotion coupon for 15% off future early childhood purchases from BigToys and Investigator Club.
