Bike Florida Redefines Bike Touring with Boutique Tours Focusing on Slow Travel
Tallahassee, FL (PRWEB) July 30, 2013 -- Fast enough to get there, slow enough to enjoy the ride. That's the philosophy of the St. Johns River to Sea Loop Bike Tour, part of a new series being launched by Bike Florida, a nonprofit organization dedicated to making Florida more bicycle friendly and promoting cycle tourism in the Sunshine State.
The seven day tour starts November 15, 2013 from St. Augustine, FL, Americas oldest city, and visits small towns along with natural and historic landmarks along the east coast of Florida and the St. John's River area.
As expected, the tour provides riders with a great riding experience each day, coupled with comfortable lodging and meals. And by combining shorter riding days, a layover day and some interesting preplanned activities the tour provides a well-rounded travel experience that is more than just hours on the bike. The River to Sea tour is fully supported, including luggage transport, a SAG vehicle, hotel accommodations and meals.
"We're really pleased with the response to this tour so far," said tour director Paul McManus. "Registration has only been open a few weeks and already we are more than half full."
The boutique tour genre is a new kind of tour for the organization, best known for its annual spring bike tour that attracts up to 1000 riders each year and crossed the state camping in various small towns and communities.
"From our experience with the spring tour we knew there was a demand for small group tours with a higher level of comfort and service," said Bike Florida Executive Director Ron Cunningham. "We first rode the River to Sea Loop back in 2008 as part of a campaign to promote the completion of the East Coast Greenway trail system. Now seems like the perfect time to bring it back."
Registrants still have time to save $250 on the tour by registering before Aug 31st. Visit the registration page for more info: River to Sea Tour Registration.
