BioSpa For Men, the First and Only Medical Spa in Orange County to Address the Needs of Male Patients, is Now Open
Newport Beach, CA. (PRWEB) July 11, 2015 -- The increasing trend of men in Southern California, specifically Orange County, seeking non-invasive cosmetic treatments, has prompted two of the areas top plastic surgeons, Dr. Jed Horowitz and Dr. Larry Nichter, to expand their medical spa to include BioSpa For Men. This is the first and only medical spa in Orange County to focus on the special needs and desires of men.
The BioSpa For Men caters to businessmen and professionals, young affluent men concerned with appearance, body aware men who work out frequently and want the best physical features possible, and the gay community who also fall into the aforementioned categories," explains Dr. Horowitz.
In the most recent issue of Time Magazine an article titled Nip.Tuck.Or Else. discusses the undeniable shift in society's acceptance and desire to pursue cosmetic improvements. Author Joel Stein begins the article stating, “You’re going to have to do it. And not all that long from now. Probably not a full-on, general-anesthesia bone shaving or muscle slicing. But almost definitely some injections into your face. Very likely a session of fat melting in some areas and then possibly moving it to some other parts that could use plumping. Not because you hate yourself, fear aging or are vain. You’re going to get a cosmetic procedure for the same reason you wear makeup: because every other woman is.”
Dr. Jed Horowitz points out this is not just true of women, as the article implies. The American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) has published data for 2014 showing an increase in the number of men requesting and undergoing cosmetic procedures, both surgical and non-surgical. Dr. Horowitz confirms his BioSpa medical spa in Orange County has also experienced a substantial increase in men requesting laser hair removal, Botox® (a.k.a. Brotox), fillers, and non-surgical fat reduction/body contouring. His plastic surgery practice has also seen an increase in surgical procedures such as their popular LiteLift® facelift, neck lift, eyelid surgery, liposuction, and rhinoplasty with and without chin augmentation.
The Time Magazine article goes on to talk about the evolution of the facelift and mentions the LiteLift® procedure offered by Dr. Horowitz and Dr. Nichter at their practice Pacific Center for Plastic Surgery, which is an affiliate of the BioSpa For Men.
“Nichter, who has fading, thin white hair and a calm, gentle demeanor, is known for the LiteLift surgery, a variation on a mini-face-lift, which he and his partner (Dr. Jed Horowitz) created. With a Lite Lift®, Hall could avoid an operating room and general anesthesia. Instead she could take an anti-anxiety pill, get a local anesthetic, have a short incision hidden behind her ear and be done in two hours right in his office.” Time Magazine.
Dr. Horowitz explains the article wrongly compares the LiteLift ® to the Lifestyle Lift, which was run in a multi clinic national chain, each doctor performing their own variation of a facelift. The LiteLift® performed solely at the Pacific Center for Plastic Surgery in Orange County, was named and developed by Dr. Horowitz to be an easier, simpler facelift, with limited incisions, complete muscle correction beneath the skin, and a vertical lift approach. The LiteLift® also meets the discreet needs of male patients. The incisions are well hidden with limited incisions compared to traditional facelift techniques and recovery is quicker. While both doctors were performing a vertical facelift (MACS facelift) for several years prior to introducing the LiteLift®, the newer improved method allows the procedure to be performed in the office with local anesthesia. Twilight and general anesthesia are also available when indicated or preferred. With a growing number of professional men seeking cosmetic improvement, all of these improvements help meet their demands for having "work" done.
Dr. Horowitz points out statistics mentioned in the Time Magazine article apply to both men and women alike. “Workers with above-average looks will make $230,000 more over their lifetime than people who are in the aesthetic bottom seventh, as a study by University of Texas economics professor Daniel Hamermesh found." This has been noted in the Wall Street Journal quoting studies from both Yale and Harvard several years ago. In fact, salaries are often 9% higher per year according to these studies. Dr. Horowitz firmly believes these studies imply the nip/tuck/fill and freeze is a worthwhile investment. As mentioned in Time, it would appear that we all have Nip.Tuck.Or Else. in our futures; we may as well embrace and enjoy.
