California (PRWEB) November 27, 2013 -- Each year, the lines in front of Best Buy begin forming very early, even as soon as the Monday before Black Friday. However, people who join similar lines in the future might find themselves doing so just for fun, as many people have begun moving the majority of their purchases online.
Dealmoon.com recently conducted a survey of approximately 5,000 of its users to gauge interest in the various types of Black Friday offers, as well to research the users’ related shopping activities.
Surprisingly, only about 9% of people mentioned they would definitely go to brick-and-mortar stores on Black Friday. 41% of people said they would certainly not go, and 50% responded with “maybe.”
Every year, progressively more people are utilizing the internet to find the best deals. For example, 82% of those surveyed stated that they would utilize coupon/deal sites like Dealmoon to find Black Friday deals. 51% stated that they would get the information from the various merchants’ websites, 50% said they would be checking social media for offers, and 43% said they would get some of their information from e-mail newsletters. Only 12% said that they would be checking their local newspapers, and an even smaller percentage (7%) said they would be using television to find the best deals.
The survey revealed that the Apple iPad Air was the most desired item, with 40.79% of people wanting to buy, followed by the Apple iPhone 5s (36%), laptops (34%), the Apple iPad Mini (32%), SLR cameras (30%), televisions (10%), the Samsung Galaxy S4 (9%), the Sony PS4 (8%), the Microsoft Xbox One (7.5%), the Google Nexus 5 (7%), and various desktop PCs (6.5%).
As far as merchant popularity is concerned, 67% of those surveyed said that they expected excellent offers from Amazon.com, 49% said that they would expect quality offers from Best Buy, and 46% expected strong showings from outlet malls (which often offer name-brands at low prices). Demographically, 72% of those surveyed were female, and 73% were between the ages of 20 and 30.
This year, Dealmoon.com has a dedicated Black Friday page, with various exclusive and limited-time offers. New offers will be added and monitored 24 hours per day for the entire week preceding Black Friday. For more information, visit Dealmoon.com.
