Blendtec is Selected as Business of the Year
Orem, Utah (PRWEB) January 30, 2015 -- Blendtec, a leading manufacturer of commercial-grade blending equipment, today was recognized for being selected as Business of the Year and Innovative Business of the Year runner-up behind Google Fiber. Voting took place over a month-long period and was promoted by the Utah Valley Chamber of Commerce.
The Business of the Year award is given to businesses who demonstrated excellence throughout the year. To be considered for the award, companies must possess an exemplary company culture and be engaged in the community in meaningful ways. Additionally, the ideal business will have overcome adverse conditions to find success.
“Blendtec faced great adversity in 2014 as a result of the increased demand for our products during the largest implementation of operational improvements,” says Craig Taylor, Blendtec CEO. “Despite this, we have been able to further fortify our foundation for the dramatic growth that is expected to continue as we continue to introduce new innovative products.”
In 2014, Blendtec grew from 270 to over 500 Utah-based employees, not including the huge influx of seasonal temp employees and the several hundred field sales reps across the country. Additionally, Blendtec’s founder Tom Dickson, was also a large financial donor in Thanksgiving Point’s Museum of Natural Curiosity, which focuses on hands-on learning, experimentation, and discovery—the same traits that led Dickson himself to become a serial inventor and successful businessman.
“As long as we continue to push for consistent personal and professional growth from ourselves, employees and brand partners, we will always win,” says Dickson. “The health of our company is directly linked to the culture that we develop within these walls, and we are staged for some exciting growth in the years to come.”
The Utah Valley has been recognized for its business-friendly atmosphere by receiving the highest rankings in Forbes annual Best Places for Business and Careers list. This has attracted many large corporations like Adobe and Google, and has allowed for rapid expansion for Utah startups like Qualtrics, Vivint and Domo.
