Bloomsbury Author Named Finalist in 2013 USA Book Awards
New York, NY (PRWEB) December 20, 2013 -- Sandra Clayton's A Thousand Miles from Anywhere, published by Bloomsbury Publishing in May 2013, has been listed as a finalist in the 2013 USA Book Awards in the Travel category.
In this third installment in her series, she describes the transatlantic crossing she undertook with her husband, David, from Gibraltar via the Atlantic Islands to the Caribbean, and ending up in Fort Lauderdale. Told uniquely from the wife's perspective, Sandra Clayton was initially a reluctant sailor, but became a keen yachtswoman by the end of her first book, Turtles in Our Wake, when the couple sailed from the UK to the Mediterranean. Her second book, Dolphins Under My Bed has plenty to offer those who might consider embarking on a similar voyage of their own: learn how the Claytons did it, which route they took, the beautiful locations they visited, who they met along the way, and their good decisions as well as their bad.
A Thousand Miles from Anywhere is an entertaining travelogue about the Claytons' experiences, detailing the wonderful places they visited, the fascinating people they met and the humorous situations they got involved in.
Sandra Clayton fell in love with sailing and the sea, and the urge to write it all down became irresistible. Writing has been her pasttime or her job for most of her life, and her output includes an award-winning radio play for the BBC.
