BLR Founder Robert Brady Inducted into SIPA Hall of Fame
OLD SAYBROOK, Connecticut (PRWEB) July 12, 2016 -- Robert Brady, founder and former CEO of BLR®, has been inducted into the Specialized Information Publishers Association (SIPA) Hall of Fame. Each year, the award is bestowed to a leader who has given back incredibly to both the Association and the industry throughout his or her career. It’s the highest accolade imparted by SIPA.
Brady founded Business & Legal Reports (BLR) in 1977, growing the business over three decades into one of the market's most prominent brands. "I parlayed an eight-page newsletter into BLR, one of the industry's most successful companies. I was lucky to meet and partner with the right people," says Brady.
In 2011, BLR merged with M. Lee Smith Publishers. After working as CEO and Editor in Chief, Brady now serves as a director and consultant on special projects.
"Bob Brady has provided a road map for all of us on how to be successful in business and in life," says current BLR CEO Dan Oswald. "Start with honesty and caring for others, toss in an entrepreneurial spirit, 'out-of-the-box' thinking, and the ability to come up with new ideas, and couple all of it with a lot of hard work, and you have the recipe for success. Bob Brady is living proof of that."
Brady came into publishing by way of the University of Notre Dame, where he was managing editor of the student newspaper, The Observer. After college, he worked for the Bureau of Business Practice and Institute for Management, both newsletter publishers. He founded BLR during his final year of law school at the University of Connecticut. Bob is a board member and Vice President of SIPA. He is a long-time member of the board of the Valley Shore YMCA, Westbrook, CT. Brady also continues to serve on the board of BLR and retains partial ownership of the company.
