BLR Legal Editor Emily Remmel Accepts University of Oklahoma’s Environmental Studies Adjunct Instructor Position

Old Saybrook, CT (PRWEB) January 23, 2016 -- BLR legal editor Emily Remmel recently accepted a position as an adjunct instructor with the University of Oklahoma’s Environmental Studies program. Her online undergraduate class, Introduction to Water Resources Law, reflects her passion to teach the importance of water resources. She is constantly enthusiastic about water issues and often poses the question “what’s not to love about water law?” In a world faced with surging populations, heightened demands, and dwindling local supplies, students in her class will gain an invaluable appreciation for this vital resource.

Ms. Remmel joined BLR’s EHS publication team as environmental legal editor in March 2015. In her role as a legal editor, she focuses on all things water, including stormwater regulations, NPDES permitting, and wetlands. She also oversees CERCLA, brownfields and USTs/ASTs. Ms. Remmel often presents webinars and teaches a one-day environmental bootcamp on UST compliance for managers.

Before joining BLR, Ms. Remmel clerked for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency in Boston and the Environmental and Natural Resources Legal Clinic in Vermont. She holds a Juris Doctorate and a Certificate of Water Law from Vermont Law School and served as the editor-in-chief of the Vermont Journal of Environmental Law. In addition, Ms. Remmel received a B.S. and M.S. in Zoology from the University of Oklahoma. She is a member of the American Bar Association as well as the New Hampshire Bar Association and is licensed to practice law in New Hampshire.

Ms. Remmel enjoys all things science, especially exploring wetlands (for zooplankton), hiking, and reading.
