Blue Frog Books of Howell, Michigan Welcomes you to Meet Local Authors, Artisans, Mentors, and WWII 101st Airborne Veteran Don Burgett
Howell, MI (PRWEB) October 08, 2014 -- Blue Frog Books continues its mission of introducing it's community to it's own artists, authors, local "heroes", personalities, and neighbors. "We have been amazed at how many people nearby are some sort of artist, or have interesting stories to tell.", Penny Coleman, owner, stated when asked why they feel the need to have so many events.
"If it weren't for a small bookstore to let these folks tell the world what they have done, there really wouldn't be another avenue for them", Coleman added.
"It isn't like it is a chore." She chuckled. "We have a great time with every one of them. They are all worth spending time with. Artists just approach things from a different starting point. Which may get you thinking a different way. It can be unexpectedly amazing."
Blue Frog has events on most weekends and this weekend's schedule will include:
On Friday, October 10th at 7pm they will host Open Poetry Night with nationally published poet, John F. Buckley headlining with verses from his new book, "Yankee Broadcast Network"
On Saturday, October 11th at 1pm "Trades of Hope", Free Trade jewelry, story time, and craft;
"Space Kassle" hand blown glass wares made locally at 2pm;
and "Millennial Makeover" at 6:30 pm, a young person self help book to help break through the stereotypes of being a GenY, by Hailey Jordan Yatros.
Then, on Sunday, October 12th from 1:00 - 3:00pm, Hometown Veteran Don Burgett will appear to talk about his WWII, 101st Airborne experiences and to celebrate his re-issue of his series of books under his own copyright, about his time in the war with custom cover art by Billy Tucci.
With the following weekend offering local radio personality, David C. Hayes, with his collection of horror stories, the weekend after that offering intrigue from Tracy Gardner Beno, or a children's book about feelings called "Butterfly Hill", or a success book by local, Michael Foguth on the next weekend, plus their regularly held Book Club, Photo Club, and Story Time, there is surely something for everyone to peak their interests with.
