BlueDreams USA Opens To the Public Starting Sunday, June 11
Frederick, MD (PRWEB) June 10, 2017 -- For the couple Jeff Snively and Imelda Roberts, co-owners of Blue Dreams USA, opening the first of its kind lavender, roses and tea farm boutique in the US to their invited guests and supporters on June 10, 2017, at a Frederick Maryland, is a culmination of two-year efforts sowing and finally reaping the rewards of hard work, patience and love for nature that farming requires. The unique farm boutique located in 25-acre farm that the couple owns since 2004, now houses exclusive products many of which were designed by Imelda. The lavender, roses and tea fields were lovingly planted and continuously tended by Jeff fighting the harsh weather and weeds to make it to what it is now. From the recently constructed boutique with stone entrance, large patio and tea room, the place promises a time to be in a moment with nature. Surrounded by lavender, roses and tea, plus scenic views of neighboring vineyards, the farm and boutique is tucked away from the traffic and noises of the city, yet with easy access from I-70.
To many who have previewed and visited the farm boutique, it is a lovely place to shop, sip and taste organic tea, unwind with nature and be in place that offers a relaxing environment. As the first tea farm in Frederick County, Maryland, the place is getting attention as planting camellia sinensis, its leaves used for green, black, oolong and other tea, is not easy to find in the US, especially in Maryland. Growing lavender, the most popular herb known as “Blue Gold” for its diverse value and uses, can also be a challenge in Maryland, but this did not stop the couple from planting several varieties. Today, the amazing colors and scents of lavenders that bloom in summer allure even the passersby. Combining this with roses, the most beloved flower in the world; and tea, the most consumed beverage next to water inspired both Jeff and Imelda to put these three plants in one farm. They believe in the business potential of what they have created, but more importantly, be able to create a wholesome legacy in their community.
To work, play and live in the same place is a like a dream come true. “It is our piece of heaven,” said Imelda who also acts as the President and Chief Creative Officer of Blue Dreams USA. “It is my creative playground. I get to see what I love in our farm, just like a line in a song – “let me tell you about the birds, the flowers and the bees.” They inspired me to design many exclusive products including my own arrangements of preserved roses, hand painted teapots, hand blown glasses, and matching quilling cards.” “It is a place to find thoughtful gifts already packaged in gift boxes and with matching handmade cards. A man can easily find what a woman wants here,’ added Jeff. “From the tea we drink to the bath and body products we put in our skin, we have made sure what we offer are eco-friendly products with scents worth remembering,” said Jeff, Vice President and Chief Operating Officer.
For Jeff and Imelda, it is a dream come true to transform what was once a barren land into a place bursting in colors with flowers and scents they love as a couple. “Venturing into an agri-tourism and farming is like tailing back into our young lives when I had fun assisting my father who was a landscaper,” said Jeff. Imelda added, “It is somehow reliving a young life no matter how difficult was my means to go to college. Selling jasmine, roses and vegetables to make a living in the muddy wet market and roaming in farm as a young child prepared me to the core challenges of life.”
Today, the farm boutique may be a stark contrast from the kind of young life they came from, or the successful corporate life they both enjoyed, but for Jeff and Imelda, the farm is a preparation for their retirement where they want to relive the simple joy of nature and share with the community the value added products that come from lavender, roses and tea plus their collection of handmade products. The farm boutique will be opened to the public starting Sunday, June 11, and every weekends till Fall. Hours will be 11am to 7:00 pm.
