BluePrint Healthcare IT and Navion Healthcare Solutions Partner to Ensure Highest Standards of Security and Privacy of Healthcare Information Using HITRUST CSF
Cranbury, NJ and Indianapolis, IN (PRWEB) January 12, 2016 -- BluePrint Healthcare IT and Navion Healthcare Solutions jointly announced an agreement that commits both parties to work together to achieve HITRUST (Health Information Trust Alliance) Certification for Navion in accordance with the HITRUST Common Security Framework (CSF). As a leading provider of Certified Clinical Registry Software and outsourced data abstraction services, Navion has chosen BluePrint, HITRUST’s longest-tenured, exclusively healthcare-focused assessor to provide virtual CISO (Chief Information Security Officer) services which will optimize and accelerate Navion’s security processes to meet the HITRUST Common Security Framework (CSF) and certification.
Kevin Willmann, President of Navion Healthcare Solutions said, “Healthcare providers increasingly seek the benefits provided by high performance, low cost Cloud Based Software as a Service Products, but remain rightfully concerned about HIPAA compliance and data security. Given the alphabet soup of security certifications and audit standards, Hospital leadership requires a single standard that immediately communicates the pinnacle of security performance and trust. Navion made the decision to use the Common Security Framework and HITRUST Certification because it is the preeminent objective benchmark that brings healthcare information security together under a single set of best practice controls. By choosing this standard, Navion is once again demonstrating clear leadership in the clinical registry software marketplace.”
“The path to taking on the HITRUST’s Common CSF and HITRUST certification includes a rigorous set of processes that are critical to safeguarding PHI,” said Vikas Khosla, President and CEO of BluePrint Healthcare IT. Khosla added, “We’re very careful to work with covered entities and business associates like Navion, who are prepared to face the demands of the gold standard of the healthcare industry, HITRUST, on an ongoing basis. These organizations recognize that security is not a ‘one and done’ set of procedures and needs to be embraced as a continuing commitment by all employees.”
“HIPAA guidelines and information security were central in the development of our Navion Ncompass Software Product,” said Navion Chief Technology Officer John Peasley. He added, “By utilizing the Common Security Framework and HITRUST Certification, we have an objective and well-defined set of controls to demonstrate our commitment to the highest level of Healthcare Information Security. We are very excited to partner with BluePrint Healthcare IT and leverage their significant experience in achieving HITRUST Certification.”
BluePrint has begun review of Navion’s security controls against the HITRUST CSF standards and will assist with any required remediation planning and ultimately the preparation of submission for full certification. Certification is expected to be complete in calendar year 2016.
