BlueStripe Software Announces Support for Docker
Research Triangle Park, NC (PRWEB) February 24, 2015 -- BlueStripe Software announced today that its FactFinder application and transaction monitoring software now supports Docker. FactFinder, which discovers, maps, and monitors complex applications that run across physical, virtual, and cloud infrastructure components, now also identifies and monitors processes that reside in Docker containers. The new capability gives IT Operations teams the ability to monitor and manage application components that use containers as part of their overall application deployment process.
Docker is an open platform for deploying and managing lightweight software containers. Containers enable developers to quickly assemble components without the overhead of more standard virtual machines. As Docker’s popularity has grown, so has the need to monitor processes that are housed in containers within the larger context of IT and business services. BlueStripe’s new capability provides that visibility.
“IT Operations Teams need visibility into all the different technologies that make up their application and IT services,” said Chris Neal, CEO and co-founder of BlueStripe Software. “As containers grow in popularity and become more common in production applications, visibility and performance management becomes critical. BlueStripe continues to expand our offerings to give our customers the tools they need to ensure application performance.”
The new capabilities are available with the latest release of FactFinder.
FactFinder automatically discovers, maps, and monitors all business transactions running within the data center and across the Cloud. FactFinder measures performance, hop-by-hop, everywhere that transactions go, across tiers, across platforms, and across architectures – into virtual machines and containers, public, private, and hybrid cloud, and even third party services. When performance or availability problems occur, FactFinder follows the slow or hung transaction right to the problem component, and then drills down the server stack to determine why the problem occurred. The BlueStripe Performance Center brings FactFinder’s capabilities seamlessly into Microsoft System Center and Windows Azure Pack.
