BlumShapiro Elects Five New Partners
West Hartford, Connecticut (PRWEB) January 11, 2016 -- BlumShapiro, the largest regional accounting and business consulting firm based in New England with offices in Connecticut, Massachusetts and Rhode Island, has announced the election of five new partners, Thomas Dearnley, CPA; James Harper, CPA; Jennifer P. Hogencamp, CPA, CHAE; William F. Murray, CPA/ABV, CFF, ASA; and Ronald W. Nossek, CPA.
As a partner in BlumShapiro’s Accounting and Auditing Department, based in Quincy, Massachusetts, Dearnley has more than 12 years of accounting experience. He specializes in audits of privately held businesses in construction, manufacturing, distribution, technology and professional services, as well as construction claims and contract audits.
Dearnley is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants (MSCPA) and the South Boston Leadership Initiative Board of Directors.
Dearnley is a graduate of Bryant University with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting Information Systems.
As a partner in BlumShapiro’s software and business process outsourcing (BPO) consulting group in West Hartford, CT, Harper manages the BPO services platform, which includes performing all accounting and back office transaction services for both start-up and mature organizations in all industries, including fractional CFO and controller services. In addition, he oversees and provides consulting expertise such as CFO advisory, process improvement and reengineering, business enterprise review (BER), software selection and performance management.
Harper has diverse experience in finance, finance transformation, accounting, reporting, controls and operational management, and specializes in serving large and middle-market privately held and public companies, hospitals and healthcare organizations, non-profit organizations and municipalities.
Harper is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).
He is a graduate of Boise State University with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting and a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish.
Based in Providence, R.I., Hogencamp leads the firm’s hospitality services group. She has more than 15 years of public accounting experience and is a member of BlumShapiro’s Accounting and Auditing Department. She provides audit services to a variety of clients, including those in the hospitality, technology, education and manufacturing and distribution industries.
Hogencamp works with a wide array of clients in the hospitality industry, including some of the largest hospitality management companies in the country. She is the head of the BlumShapiro team that represents a major real estate investment company specializing in acquisition and management of investment real estate in the hospitality industry. She manages the audits for three funds, whose assets exceed $1 billion. She also works with a number of non-profit agencies, specializing in audit services for educational institutions.
Hogencamp is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Rhode Island Society of Certified Public Accountants (RISCPA) and the Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals (HFTP) Board of Directors. She is also a member of the Best Buddies Rhode Island Board of Directors.
Hogencamp is a graduate of Bentley University with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting.
As a partner with BlumShapiro’s Litigation Services and Business Valuation Group in West Hartford, CT, Murray has more than 15 years of experience in business valuation, economic damages and forensic investigations. He provides attorneys, high wealth individuals, privately held companies and business owners with valuation services for trust and estate planning, gifting, shareholder disputes, mergers and acquisitions, financial reporting, taxation and matrimonial dissolutions. He also assists attorneys in the calculation of economic damages in contract disputes and intellectual property litigation.
He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), accredited in business valuation (ABV) and certified in financial forensics (CFF); American Society of Appraisers (is an accredited senior appraiser, ASA); Estate Planning Council of New York City; Association for Corporate Growth (ACG) Connecticut Chapter; New York City Chapter of the American Society of Appraisers (past President); and the Estate Planning Council of Lower Fairfield County.
Murray is a graduate of Washington and Jefferson College with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics/Accounting.
Nossek is a proven expert in government accounting, with special focus in audits of government entities. In addition, Nossek has significant experience in the ever-changing regulations applied to governmental accounting, including State and Federal Single Audit Acts and School Construction Compliance.
A certified public accountant, Nossek comes to BlumShapiro from CohnReznick where he served as partner in the firm’s New London office. Nossek’s responsibility included providing municipalities with planning, management, and supervision of accounting, audit, tax and consulting services. While at CohnReznick, Nossek earned the AICPA Certificate of Educational Achievement in Governmental Accounting and Auditing.
Nossek is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountants, Government Accounting and Auditing Committee and Government Finance Officers Association of the United States.
Nossek is a former Mayor and City Council Member of the City of New London. He is former President of the Board of Directors of the Hospice of Southeastern Connecticut and is a Corporator of Lawrence & Memorial Hospital and Liberty Bank.
Nossek received a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Widener University.
