Board-Certified Ophthalmologist Michelle Yao, M.D., joins Ophthalmic Consultants of Long Island (OCLI)

For that reason, they have expanded to 11 locations that include Rockville Centre, Lynbrook, Valley Stream, Manhasset, East Meadow, Port Jefferson, Mineola, East Setauket, Garden City, Massapequa and Plainview. Dr. Yao is a bilingual (English/Mandarin) board-certified ophthalmologist who specializes in general ophthalmology, cataract surgery and refractive surgery. She received her undergraduate degree from the School of Nursing, Beijing University and a second degree from Eberly College of Arts and Sciences at West Virginia University. She obtained her Master of Science (M.S.) from West Virginia University. Dr. Yao received her medical degree from the University of Wisconsin Medical School and completed her residency in ophthalmology at Kansas University in Prairie Village, Kansas.
She is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, Long Island Ophthalmic Society and the New York State Ophthalmological Society. Other professional activities include American Society of Ophthalmic Administrators, Women in Ophthalmology, American Glaucoma Society and the Association of Chinese American Physicians.
