Boehringer Ingelheim and Eli Lilly Support DiabetesSisters’ Educational Library
Durham, NC (PRWEB) January 23, 2015 -- DiabetesSisters announced today that it has received joint funding from Boehringer-Ingelheim and Eli Lilly in the amount of $50,000 to support the creation of DiabetesSisters’ first Educational Library. The multi-sponsored Library, intended to educate women with diabetes, their families, and the public about the unique challenges faced by women with diabetes, will be available in print and online later this year. The first educational pieces created for the Library will be geared specifically toward African-American and Hispanic women living with diabetes.
DiabetesSisters believes receiving accurate information and support as soon as possible is critical to women’s success in managing their diabetes. With a presence in over 32 cities in the United States through their signature PODS Meetup program, more than 18,000 monthly website visitors, and over 12,000 active members, DiabetesSisters will distribute the educational pieces through their own national network as well as partnering organization’s networks.
