Boston, MA (PRWEB) September 15, 2016 -- Boloco, a Boston-based family of globally inspired burrito restaurants, and some of its key suppliers, including Big Papi’s Kitchen, are joining forces to support the David Ortiz Children’s Fund with a series of Free Burrito Days between now and the last game of the Red Sox winning season.
HT Berry, Harbar Tortillas, Spin Drift Soda, and Big Papi’s Kitchen have all committed their generous support to Boloco Free Burrito Days as part of an ongoing $34,000 fundraising effort that began in July and continues until the last day Big Papi swings his bat as a member of the Boston Red Sox.
“We’re going to be giving away tens of thousands of burritos, so our humble request is that everyone who attends one of our Free Burrito Days bring at least a couple of bucks, maybe more, to donate to the David Ortiz Children’s Fund,” says CEO and founder, John Pepper. “The lines will be long, but the cause and the food will be worth the wait.”
With each Free Burrito Day, Boloco will also be introducing its new “Walk the Line” format where fans will now order a burrito, bowl, or salad with the person who is actually making the food. Having tested Walk The Line for over a month, mistakes have dropped by 90% and while the initial wait is longer to order, overall time spent in line is shorter and far more interactive. For those guests who don’t like talking to people or just hate standing in line the online, app, and in-store kiosk ordering are the ticket.
Boloco’s first celebrations will kick off Wednesday, September 14 at Boloco’s flagship Berklee College of Music location and Thursday, September 15 at Boloco on the Boston Common from 11am – 8pm. Free burrito days will continue over the next three weeks at a number other locations and will be announced on Boloco’s social media channels.
