Bonterra at Woodforest, Taylor Morrison’s First Houston 55+ Community, Announces Lifestyle Director
Houston, Texas (PRWEB) August 29, 2014 -- Taylor Morrison has announced the hiring of its lifestyle director for its first 55+ community in Houston, Bonterra at Woodforest.
Amanda Daugherty will serve as lifestyle director for the new community, which debuted in early August with a successful grand opening that saw almost 2,000 people visit the nine-home model collection in just two days.
Daugherty brings a wealth of experience to Bonterra. Most recently, she served as the director of recreation services for a mixed-age community. Prior to that, Daugherty worked as a lifestyle director for an active adult community and as a fitness and spa manager for a five-star hotel.
“More and more homebuyers are telling us that their next community needs to fit their active lifestyles,” said Jim Ellison, vice president of sales and marketing for Taylor Morrison’s Houston division, pointing to the inclusion of fitness programs, cardio kickboxing, boot camps and wellness seminars as just a few examples. “We’re gearing up for our active residents by getting a head start on our activities and our lifestyle director.”
Daugherty will spend much of her time in the heart of the community at a planned 10,000-square-foot destination clubhouse for Bonterra residents that will include a ballroom with flexible meeting rooms, a catering/demonstration kitchen, movement room for aerobics, Zumba, Pilates, a treatment room, large covered veranda and resort-style pool.
The clubhouse will join a community that offers three distinct collections of homes. The 45-foot Landmark series, 52-foot Summit series and 62-foot Pinnacle series offer something for even the most discerning homebuyer. Prices start in the mid $200,000s.
“Each collection offers its own unique take on the community,” Ellison said. “But the common thread running through all of them is the fact that we listened to what homebuyers want in their next home. And a part of that was the desire to have a community that was brimming with activity.”
Ellison said Bonterra is focused on more than just homes – it’s about an all-around lifestyle. “There will be something for everyone,” he said.
Indeed Bonterra will offer plenty of activities for residents, with the community’s proposed clubhouse serving as the hub of those activities along Daugherty.
“I thoroughly enjoy working in this industry, helping to create fun and exciting programs for my residents,” Daugherty said.
Bonterra residents also can expect proposed activities such as walking and running clubs, an adventure club that will focus on hiking, camping and mountain biking, a road cycling club, garden club, book club, singles club, and much more.
Future sports programs are also in the works, with residents being able to choose from bocce-ball, pickle-ball, tennis, community leagues and golf at Woodforest Golf Club.
“I’m truly excited for this next adventure,” Daugherty said. “Being able to grow our participation as the community grows ensures that everyone will find a place they can truly call home.”
